Healthcare Academy

This academy will prepare students with the skills needed to enter the healthcare field.  This is a required for students enrolling in cerftified clinical medical assistant, phlebotomy technician, and pharmacy technician courses as well as provide a solid foundation for college healthcare programs.  Students will receive instruction in Healthcare Math and English; introductions to Medical Terminology, HIPAA, Ethics, and Anatomy & Physiology; employability skills, technology and digital literacy.

October 1st launches financial aid season.  You are invited to attend the 2020 UMA-Ellsworth Center's Phantom Finances event.  Looking to grow the grant and scholarship portion of your college funding plan and reduce or eliminate your use of student loans?  Attend UMA-Ellsworth Center's annual Phantom Finances: Face your Fears about Financial Aid & Funding for College on Thursday, October 1st from 9am-noon by Zoom.  With presenters from FAME, MEOC, and the HOPE Programs, you will learn about Financial Aid, private scholarships, workforce development funding, and money hacks, plus hear from students who have been purposeful in their financial aid process, what worked for them, and what they learned along teh way that will inform your process!  Remove the financial stress of managing college by growing your savviness and your funds - your participation in Phantom Finances is a guaranteed good investment in your financial future!  Register here for the October 1st, 9-noon, free Zoom event.  Within a day of registering, you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link and passcode to Phantom Finances.  Nearly all of the 2019 participants successfully leveraged additional funding, so attend and engage this year to position yourself for your strongest possible college funding!  I hope to see you there!
