Healthcare Academy

The academy will prepare students with the needed pre-requisites for certified clinical medical assistant, phlebotomy technician, and pharmacy technician courses as well as provide a solid foundation for college healthcare programs.  Students will receive instruction in Healthcare Math and English; introductions to Medical Terminology, HIPAA, Ethics, and Anatomy and Physiology: employability skills, technology and digital literacy.  This course is a required pre-requisite to enter any of our Healthcare Certificate Programs.  Students will complete assessments the first night and receive individual schedules.

College and Career Preparation

Do you want or need to take a course for work, college, or personal use but already have your high school diploma?  Any of our high school courses can be taken as credit or non-credit (your choice).  Up to 50 hours of instruction.  Ongoing.

Are you preparing for college, training, making a career step and need to take a course or to receive a bit of tutoring to be ready for your next step?  Any high school course can be taken as a credit or non-credit (your choice) to assist you in reaching your goals.  We also provide course specific tutoring, Accuplacer adn ASVAB preparation, College and Career Readiness courses, Healthcare pre-requisites and preaparation, and Digital Literacy, Career Exploration, English, Math, Anatomy and Physiology, and Biology are all just a sample of the assistance we can provide.  We accept enrollments year round and have onsite, blended, and distance learning options to fit your schedule.  Most of our College and Career Readiness courses are free or of very low cost.  Many of the individual courses and workshops are listed with expanded descriptions on our website at www.rsu25.maineadulted.org and we will also work with you to design your own individual learning plan.  Contact us to make an appointment with our friendly, knowledgeable staff and get started today!!

Digital Literacy for Work and College

Digital Literacy is a series of instructor led courses to improve an individual's ability to perform basic computer skills.  Course includes, but is not limited to, Basic Computers Skills, Internet, Windows, Mac OSX, Email, Word, Social Media, Excel, PowerPoint, and Informational Literacy.  Testing for a certificate is free and available to those who need to assess their skills.

ELA for College and Career

Develop reading, writing, and research skills for college and career success.  Topics covered may include punctuation, grammar, use of language, elements of fiction and non-fiction, research skills and strategies.  Ongoing.

IC3 Training

IC3 is a certification for anyone who wants to demonstrate critical computer and internet skills.  Students who achieve IC3 certification possess the validated skills and knowledge requried for basic use of computer hardware, software, networks, and the Internet.  Not only do you receive tools for success in the 21st Century classroom but also for higher education, employment, and life.  To become IC3 certified, you must pass the following three exams: Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online.  Training and Practice tests are free through March 2020.  Certification exams are held in Bangor and are free to approved Techhire IC3 students.  All other will have an exam fee.
