This course offers the skills needed to solve insurance billing problems, how to manually file claims (using the CPT and ICD-10 manual), complete common insurance forms, trace delinquent claims, appeal denied claims and use generic forms to streamline billing procedures. The course covers the following areas: CPT (Introduction, Guidelines, Evaluation and Management), ICD-10 (Introduction and Guidelines) and basic claims processes for medical insurance and third party reimbursements. Northstar Digital Literacy Certificate

The Northstar Digital Literacy Certificate is a self-guided online set of assessments that shows an individual's ability to perform basic computer skills. Assessments are available for basic computer skills, world wide web, windows, Mac OSX, email, word, social media, excel, powerpoint, and information literacy. Testing for a certificate is free and available to anyone who needs to assess their skills. Lab times vary each semester and one-on-one sessions may be set up by appointment. Please note that there is a fee for instructor led courses and one-on-one sessions. You can call our office at 469-2129 to set up an appointment or to learn more about the program.

This course prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. This program includes a clinical externship rotation for all students. To be eligible for the clinical rotation, students must successfully complete the 90 hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements. 24 Sessions.
