Get an understanding of managing workers in different generations in the workplace.  Discover what motivates each generation at work, what incentives they respond to, and what messages they value.  Generations X and Y are significantly different than the Boomer generation.  Each generation has different expectations and styles of work in the workplace.  Come explore the characteristics of the different generations in the workplace.  Discover the current motivations of Boomers, Gen Xers and Gen Yers and what messages they value.  Then identify practical, how-to tips and techniques for managing Boomers, Gen Xers, and Gen Yers in the workplace.

This course offers the skills needed to solve insurance billing problems, how to manually file claims (using the CPT and ICD-10 manual), complete common insurance forms, trace delinquent claims, appeal denied claims and use generic forms to streamline billing procedures. The course covers the following areas: CPT (Introduction, Guidelines, Evaluation and Management), ICD-10 (Introduction and Guidelines) and basic claims processes for medical insurance and third party reimbursements. Students will learn how to find the service and codes using manuals, (CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS). 22 Sessions.

A beginner's guide to Microsoft Windows 10 operating system. This course will go through the basics of navigating your windows 10 computer. Topics will include navigating the start menu, navigating the desktop, navigating and editing folders, basic Microsoft program functions, using Cortana, files, and windows, using a USB drive, logging out of a windows account, and proper method of shutting down the computer. 2 Sessions.


Northstar Digital Literacy Certificate

The Northstar Digital Literacy Certificate is a self-guided online set of assessments that shows an individual's ability to perform basic computer skills.  Assessments are available for basic computer skills, world wide web, windows, Mac OSX, email, word, social media, excel, powerpoint, and information literacy.  Testing for a certificate is free and available to anyone who needs to assess their skills.  Lab times vary each semester and one-on-one sessions may be set up by appointment.  Please note that there is a fee for instructor led courses and one-on-one sessions.  You can call our office at 469-2129 to set up an appointment or to learn more about the program.
